New Leadership Team? Create Alignment from the Beginning
I had a great (quick!) trip to New York yesterday to facilitate a team-building and visioning workshop for a client's newly assembled leadership team.
Bringing together insights from the group's Working Genius individual assessments and team maps helped establish a clear, common language for:
→ how they understand the process of work,
→ which parts of work bring each of them the most (and least!) energy,
→ where they have "bench depth" and where they may need to "borrow" geniuses, and
→ what that means for how they design their work together.
We also spent time on what it looks like to Lead Change Well, including:
→ Understanding key foundations about what humans need in times of change,
→ Applying a behavior change lens to organizational strategy and change work, and
→ Using practical tools to effectively articulate and communicate changes in a way that increases their success.
This team brought such thoughtfulness to their work together and I am excited for them as they continue to grow together and lead their organization forward.
If you’re welcoming new members onto your leadership team, now is a great time to pause, reflect and create alignment on your vision for the future and how you’ll work together. We’d love to help.
