Schedule Your Next Break

It’s the last week of Q1.

A time so often accompanied by the stress of meeting financial and impact targets, the push to get those last deals signed, and less sleep than most of us need.

But this week it’s also spring break.

A time to make lifelong memories with our kids, introduce them to new experiences, and share lots of love, learning and laughs.

We’ve spent the first few days of this break at a working farm that takes in rescue animals.

We’ve bottlefed lambs, milked a cow, ridden horses, fed all manner of animals, rescued a goat from a precarious situation, and been adopted by the Great Pyrenees who is the boss of the farm dogs.

Beautiful, amazing memories - the kind that don’t get made behind a desk.

It might seem strange for a strategic advisor to say this, but…

A year or two from now, you’re probably not going to remember where you landed on your impact or financial targets at the end of Q1 2024.

But your brain and body will remember if you’re not getting the rest you need, the time away, or a chance to clear your mind.

And your heart will remember missed opportunities to make memories with the people you love.

So even if this week isn’t the week you can take a break, spend 15 minutes this week figuring out when you will take one - and block your calendar now.
